Carla Marazzato, performer, choreographer and teacher, director of the C.T.R. (Theatrical Research Center) conducts a Lab for everyone dedicated to the body and movement. Participants explore the space in relation to the bodies of others on the basis of Contact Improvisation, an improvisational dance that arises from contact. The touch is the starting point from which the movement develops to finally arrive at the creation. Everyone can dance, exploring and learning about their limits and forms.
The workshop lasts two hours and is open to anyone who wants to get involved.
Comfortable clothing is recommended, contribution for participation € 5.
STORMO is a dance theater improvisation company born in Venice at the end of 2020 within the Contact Improvisation lessons at the C.T.R.
In the flock the group recognizes itself. Like birds in the air or like fish in the water. The group, in a constant practice, has linked a gestural language with a listening method which, as in the laws of physics, can be called “phasing”. Gestures, which are the words to be used to create sentences, speeches, stage writing scores that huddle in a constant connection with space and time. The performers, in the continuous search for practices that make the body speak, acquire the ability to engage in dialogue in improvisation. Contemporary dance techniques, physical theatre, butoh dance and contact dance are mixed to train the body to always have a vocabulary ready which is the one shared by Stormo. Putting yourself in phase, in fact, means being able to always interact with different elements, in a dialogue that is built thanks to the overlapping of personal choices that are accepted by the group, transformed in the moment and expanded until they become an extemporaneous story.
Afterwards, the dance floor will be open for an improvisational jam, accompanied by live music with Alberto Collodel, Duccio De Rossi and Raul Catalano. Everyone can participate: you can dance spontaneously or just watch and listen.
