An intimate and personal sound but with an undoubtedly universal appeal, this is the “deep reggaeton” of the New York producer Brian Piñeyro. Stripping dancehall music of its most bombastic elements, DJ Python creates a game of contrasts by combining dembow beats with a hypnotic IDM from which echoes of techno, ambient, breakbeat and lo-fi house emerge.
From 2016 to today his releases, released for Anthony Naples’ Proibito and Incienso as well as for the Dekmantel label, have been the scene of continuous evolution and improvement. His latest LP “Mas Amable” was one of the most acclaimed albums of 2020, an instant classic that became the perfect soundtrack of the times. This January was followed by the EP “Club Sentimientos, Vol. 2”.
The variety of his musical references emerges predominantly in his DJ sets, which move diagonally between the dancefloors of the nineties and the dancehalls of the three thousand years.
