Noche Afrodelica is a Paduan record label born from the encounter between promoters, DJs, collectors and sound engineers with the aim of producing and disseminating music that comes from Afro-Latin traditions and which expands by enriching itself with contemporary sounds from all over the world. The label also promotes live events, real musical journeys from Addis Ababa to Medellin passing through Bamako, Lagos, New Orleans and Kingston to the sound of old records, from the 60s to today.

AWESOME TAPES FROM AFRICA (US)
Following a stint in Ghana in 2002 researching the local hip hop movement, Brooklyn-based ethnomusicologist Brian Shimkovitz becomes an avid collector of audio tapes of African music: rarities from across the continent, from Zimbabwe to Ethiopia, up to Senegal.
He shares his musical heritage on the web thanks to his famous blog Awesome Tapes From Africa, which then becomes a real label dedicated to the reissue of obscure albums originally released only on cassette. In addition to rediscovering and launching the second career of legendary Ethiopian organist Hailu Mergia, Brian has also launched Ata Kak and Penny Penny internationally; he has also reissued records by Dur-Dur Band from Somalia and Na Hawa Doumbia from Mali.
His DJ sets are entirely mixed on two cassette players.

FALOU SECK & THE MELTING BEATS (SN/IT)
The band, led by the Senegalese percussionist Falou Seck and by young musicians from the Paduan and Venetian scene, was born in the summer of 2018 from the idea of mixing different sounds from the world.
The djembe meets a western ensemble, funk and fusion sonorities are articulated on the rhythms of the West African tradition with songs ranging from afrobeat to mbalax giving ample scope to the improvisation of the soloists. Deep and enthralling music, which presents itself to attentive listening as to the wildest dancefloor.
On July 31, 2021, the band’s first recording work was released for Noche Afrodelica records, two singles on 45 rpm vinyl, which can be listened to in streaming on the Bandcamp page of the label.
