Argo16’s jazz jams move to Friday evenings. The season opens with a trio of talents made up of saxophonist Robert Bonisolo, double bass player Francesco Angiuli and drummer Mauro Beggio, three conservatory professors whose careers are dotted with excellent collaborations and various concerts around the world.

BONISOLO ANGIULI BEGGIO TRIO
Robert Bonisolo is an Italian-Canadian saxophonist with exceptional soloist qualities, internationally appreciated as a musician and teacher. He studied at the Berklee College of Music and the Banf School of Fine Arts and now teaches ensemble music at the Pedrollo Conservatory in Vicenza. Collaborator of musicians such as Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Richie Beirach and Dave Liebman, in 1987 he won the Canadian Rising Star Award and American Rising Star Award.
Francesco Angiuli has performed alongside some of the greatest exponents of the American (Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson, Steve Grossman, Scott Hamilton, Billy Harper) and European (Andy Sheppard, Evan Parker, Ernst Rejeiseger) jazz scene, playing in numerous festivals international events including Oxford Jazz Festival, Helsinki Jazz-Espa, Copenhagen Jazz Festival. He holds the chair of improvisation techniques at the Pedrollo Conservatory in Vicenza.
Mauro Beggio was noticed by Enrico Rava during Siena Jazz in 1986, with whom he began his professional career the following year, recording his first album with the Enrico Rava Quartet. During his career he played with musicians such as Johnny Griffin, Toots Thielemans, Lee Konitz, Palle Danielsson, Franco Ambrosetti and Paul Bley. He has taught in the Conservatories of Vicenza, Padua, Mantua, Trieste, Rovigo and in the advanced training courses of the Siena Jazz University.
